My 4 Favorite Skincare Picks of the Moment!

Skincare is a huge deal for most (if not all) of us, especially when it comes to being proactive about preemptively fighting wrinkles. I—for one—am always checking the radar for newcomer skincare products; and more often than not, admittedly, I fall victim to the next big hype. But just as is the case with shoes, I think most of us can agree that a girl can’t have too many skincare products!

Here are a couple of my favorite skincare products of the moment!

Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil
I’ve got to say, after trying DHC’s Deep Cleansing Oil and falling in love with it, I couldn’t really imagine how Shu Uemura’s Cleansing Oil could be any better. But after seeing a discount on this originally $67-bottle of goodness when I was in Taiwan, I knew it was too good of a deal to pass up. And I must say—I love the ever-so-light scent of the product. It’s great to massage onto the face, and does a terrific job of taking off all the makeup. I only wish there were still Shu Uemura stores in the United States (they closed their brick-and-mortar stores not long ago), because I would totally repurchase this product in a heartbeat!

At the same time oatmeal is amazing as a power breakfast, it’s also great for incorporating it into the skincare regimen. I find it to be over-kill to wash my face in the morning, because it oftentimes leaves my face feeling extremely dry. Instead, I substitute oatmeal as a cleanser in the morning. All you have to do is to take about a tablespoon of oatmeal in your palm, run it under warm water, and really massage it onto your skin. It’ll effectively clean your skin, give you a brighter-looking complexion, and leave your face feeling hydrated and soft!

RoC Deep-Wrinkle Night Cream
RoC’s Deep-Wrinkle Night Cream is a great retinol product that helps with the cellular turnover in your skin. Retinol is a form of vitamin-A that is effective in promoting collagen renewal and getting that new crop of skin to resurface to the top layer. I really like RoC because it’s really affordable and helps keep wrinkles at bay.

SK-II Facial Treatment Essence
This one is an extremely popular product in Asia—which I heard about online through youtube product review videos. The Facial Treatment Essence is popular for its special patented Pitera—marketed for its “fountain of youth” quality in keeping the skin looking forever-young. While I’m not sure how much that rings true (not old enough or using the product long enough to attest to that fact), I can definitely say that it’s done a great job on shrinking my pores and evening out my complexion.
