A Quick Guide to the Best Overnight Treatments

Any good dermatologist or beauty expert will tell you that nighttime is the right time to apply skincare treatments. With products designed to enhance, nourish, and repair the skin, there seems to be a solution for everything. However, not all beauty treatments are created equal. Here are a few of the tried-and-true:

For Hydration

The need to rehydrate the skin after it has been exposed to the elements is crucial, especially during the dry winter season. With that in mind, any rich, ultra-hydrating cream from your favorite skincare brand will do the trick. Look for blends specifically designed to be used overnight. The richer the cream the better—no need to worry about looking like an oil slick, since you’ll be snuggled up in bed while the product works its magic.

For Anti-Aging

To reap maximum anti-aging benefits while you sleep, opt for a nighttime serum enhanced with Alpha Hydroxys, Retinol, or other similar anti-aging ingredients. Apply to the face half an hour before bed, to allow the product to absorb properly into the skin. Follow up with the aforementioned hydrating cream to get double the benefit.

For Clear Complexions

Pimples, blackheads, and other blemishes are unsightly and unnecessary. As with any other treatment, zapping zits is best done in the evening, when no one can see the products on your face. For optimal blemish fighting power, go with a formula rich in salicylic acid, an agent that sloughs off pore-clogging dead skin cells. Look for products with essential blemish-fighting ingredients: calamine to dry out pimples, zinc to control oil production, and charcoal to draw out impurities. The right product will allow you to combat bad skin while you snooze.

Invest in one of these overnight skincare treatments for lasting results that show.

@arpitsg It might be hyperpigmentation. I have the same issue around my nose and on my upper lip. Best way to treat it is exfoliation or lightening products (kojic acid, vit c, vit a). This comment has been removed.

My new favorite skincare line is called MyChelle and is organic!! Love the stuff <3 I was experiencing really bad eczema this winter, and it helped to get it back to normal. Also drinking a ton of h2o helped too! This comment has been removed.
