Tips for a Long Lasting Manicure

Zoya Color Lock System
There is nothing more vexing than taking the time to buff, shape, and polish nails into perfection, only to misjudge drying time and end up with unsightly smudges. Armed with the right products, and knowledge of the proper technique, nail polish smudges can and will be a thing of the past.

The key elements to ensuring a proper manicure is obtaining the proper accessories: a strong base, coats, top coats etc. Featuring all of these things is the Zoya Color Lock System, which includes an amazing and safe polish remover in Zoya Remove Plus, Zoya’s Anchor Base Coat to ensure that polish adheres to the nail, Get Even Ridge Filling Base Coat to fill unsightly nail ridges, Armor Top Coat to ensure that polish stays bulletproof, Fast Drops Polish Drying Drops to speed the drying process along, and Renew Nail Polish Rejuvenator to renew a manicure that has lost its luster.

Now, how to use it! For a long-lasting manicure, first make sure that nails are completely clean, because any oil left on the nail will lead to adherence issues. After quickly running a pad saturated with Zoya’s Remove Plus, a strong yet gentle nail polish remover over the nails, apply Zoya’s Anchor, a nail hardening basecoat, allowing approximately one minute for the base to completely dry. An optional step available for guys or gals with ridges in their nails, Get Even Ridge Filling Base Coat can be used to create a completely smooth nail surface.

Next, the polishing. While it feels like a necessary step, do not shake the bottle of polish, for doing so causes bubbles in the bottle and bubbles on your nails. To mix a color that may have settled, gently roll the bottle from side to side, while holding it tightly closed and horizontal. With that done, apply the nail lacquer of your choice, in long strokes, starting with the center of the nail and working your way out. Stick with thinner coats if possible, and layer as necessary, making sure that the previous layer of polish is completely dry before applying the next. For extra long-wear, run the nail polish brush onto the tip of your nail and slightly below the tip, to prevent unsightly chips.

Finish a manicure with Zoya’s Armor, a long-wearing topcoat, and allow approximately 15 minutes under a nail dryer to ensure that nails are completely and thoroughly dry. Nail polish drying accelerators, like Zoya’s Fast Drops help speed the process along, too. If you aren’t sure that your nails are dry, a quick way to check is to lightly tap nail to nail. If the nails stick at all, they aren’t dry! Stay under the dryer until they are.

Don’t be caught with unsightly chips and smudges again. Armed with these tips, a flawless manicure is a snap!

You can order the product directly at Zoya.com. Sally doesn't sell them but I know other specialty stores do. This comment has been removed.
