Velcro Roller Tips
Get big, bouncy bedroom hair with velcro rollers
Every gal needs a set of large velcro rollers in her hairstyling arsenal. Bouncy, billowy waves are better achieved with velcro rollers than a curling iron, and they're better for the health of your hair since heat is damaging. To use velcro rollers for maximum volume, divide your hair into several three-inch wide sections and wrap them up in medium rollers. To get smooth, straight hair, use extra-large velcro rollers and leave them in for 20 minutes. Try on wavy hairstyles in our virtual hairstyle studio.
The alternative to velcro rollers? Dry your hair 80 percent, part it into two equal sections at the crown, and twist into two buns secured with bobby pins (hello Princess Leia ). Blast with a diffuser until completely dry and leave in for 30 minutes, or sleep in them for stay-put style.
A word to the wise: Take care not to rip or tug the velcro rollers (or the neccessary bobby pins) out of your hair or you risk causing damage. The tiny bristles on velcro rollers can make the hair break, leading to a frizzy look. If you aren't careful, you can wind up in tangles. --Stephanie Simons
