If I were put on the spot to choose one—and only one—face powder that I’d get to use for the rest of my life, I’d without a doubt go to Urban Decay’s Surreal Skin Mineral Makeup. I’ve been using this stuff for a good two and a half solid years now, and I’ve never really quite found anything else that compares!

So what is so great about Urban Decay’s Mineral Makeup that makes it different from all the other powders out there in the market? Well, what I noticed right away when I first used the product was how finely milled the powder was, and how luxurious it felt on my skin. While the product comes with a sponge applicator at the top where the powder filters through, I find it kind of clumsy to use and instead apply the powder with my good ol’ kabuki brush.

The construction and packaging of the powder is probably the biggest con for me. Since I use my kabuki brush, I have to take off the top…and when I do so, I’m always afraid that I’m going to spill the powder all over myself by accident. I can say, however, that it’s been two and a half years and I’ve not yet had the misfortune of doing so, thank goodness!

That aside, I can say that the Surreal Skin Mineral Makeup gives off an extremely smooth finish that looks really natural. There’s just a slight sheen to give off a healthy glow. What’s best is that you don’t have to worry about the product caking at all! I often have to reapply my powder a couple times throughout the day, and I’ve noticed that there’s never any signs of caking that’s especially evident when I apply on the sides of my nose.

Keep in mind, however, that if you’re looking strictly for a full coverage foundation in and of itself, this product is probably not for you. Urban Decay’s Surreal Skin Mineral Makeup provides anywhere from sheer to medium coverage, and if you’re like me, you may use it to set your liquid foundation and deal with that oily t-zone area. Even thought I love trying out new things that come out, this mineral makeup is definitely something that I always go back to!

I saw this and was wondering about it. Thanks for sharing! I might use this over my liquid foundation. I know sounds like a lot, but it'll be nice to carry in my purse for touch-ups! This comment has been removed.
