These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things 2012
These Are a Few of My Favorite Things 2012
Charmy's 2012 Beauty List
1. Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 35 in Light Medium, $39.
2012 is definitely the year for BB Creams in the US (and I guess CC Creams too) so I jumped on the bandwagon. I'm so glad I did! BB Creams offer slightly more coverage than tinted moisturizers so if you want something with a little more coverage but less than foundations, look no further. I've tried several other BB Creams as well but my favorite was Smashbox because it's not greasy, gives me light to medium coverage, and goes on smoothly.
2. Zoya Nail Polish in Blaze, $8.
This polish is part of Zoya's Ornate collection and is my definite favorite out of the six. It's such a festive cranberry red shade it's perfect for the holidays. The formula is a jelly with scatter holo pieces that are perfectly suspended in the polish. It's so amazing! 2 perfect coats. Love it!
3. Laura Mercier Full Blown Volume Lash Building Mascara, $24.
I've been using Maybelline Great Lash for a while, love it, but decided to take a chance with something else. When I tried this Laura Mercier mascara I instantly fell in love. The application is so creamy smooth and definitely doesn't clump.
4. fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15, $22.50.
I got this as a sample in one of my Birchboxes earlier this year and loved how it made my lips so soft. It's slightly tinted, and it smells like lemonade. It applies like a lip balm so it's not sticky. Love to satiny packaging too!
5. Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder, $32.
It was my favorite last year, still my favorite this year. Nothing beats MUFE's finishing powder in my opinion. It's a must-have since it's a translucent powder that goes on any skin tone, it absorbs oil and makes your skin look flawless. I only use this for my photo shoots. I've had photographers tell me they are glad I use this powder because it softens the skin in photos. Must must must have!
6. e.l.f. Essential Slant Tweezer, $1.
Yup. ONE DOLLAR. Yet it's my favorite tweezer. It gets the super short and fine hairs that a lot of other tweezers miss. I feel like the grip action is perfect on these tweezers. I bought backups! They are so inexpensive, why not give them a try?
7. Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
Use it as a moisturizer after shower. Put it on the ends of your hair. Cook with it. I love coconut oil, it's so versatile. When used as a moisturizer it really leaves your skin so soft, and I love the subtle coconut aroma it leaves. I highly recommend this as part of your skin care routine!
8. Slatkin & Co. Mint Chocolate Candle
Mmm… mint chocolate, what's not to love? I seriously go crazy when we light this candle up at home. Makes me happy.
9. Butter London Nail Polish in All Hail The Queen, $14.
Another nail polish! I got this on a Coterie deal and I absolutely love it. It's a nude shade with scattered holo (again!). It's an office appropriate shade with an edge. Butter London's formula amazes me. This color is very similar to Orly Night Owl except Night Owl has silver shimmer instead of scattered hole. What a unique and classy shade. Back up worthy!
10. The Body Shop Banana Shampoo and Conditioner
Food for the hair… and it smells amazing. The banana smell is very apparent only in the shower, it doesn't overwhelm you after you rinse it off, but it feels heavenly when you lather this stuff on your hair.
