How to use a flat iron for straight hair

When it comes to style, the grass is always greener. That is, the butt is always smaller in the next fitting room and the hair you don't have is the hair you'll always covet. If you have curly or wavy hair , you'll inevitably want to try straightening it at some point. Straighten your hair with a flat iron (follow these beauty tips for minimum heat damage) or try on straight hairstyles in our virtual hairstyle studio.

Once your hair is completely dry, turn on your flat iron. Moderate heat should suffice (thicker, coarser hair will require a higher setting). Before you begin, apply a protective serum or spray to your ends. Only flat iron the top of the hair if the texture is extremely brittle.

If you feel like you simply must flat iron your entire head of hair, divide the hair evenly into 4 sections (bearing in mind that the right, left and crown portions of the hair make the most impact when styled correctly). Can I get the same effect as a flat iron by using a blow dryer? I have kinda frizzy hair that I generally style with my blow dryer...if a blow dryer pretty much does the same thing, then there's not really any point for me to invest in it. This comment has been removed.

i honestly think that a flat iron makes a really big difference if ur talking about straightening hair. ionno if it's actually better (healthy) fer ur hair than a dryer, but my hair always looks shinier & sleeker wit a straightener. so i say go get urself a flat iron! hahaha totally worth the investment imo. and plus, u can curl ur hair with it too :) This comment has been removed.
