Shu Uemura’s High Performance Balancing…

Shu Uemura’s High Performance Balancing Cleansing Oil

Makeup Remover and Cleanser for All Skin Types

For many of us, putting on makeup is a ritual every morning, but just as important is making sure that we wash off all traces of makeup at night before going to bed. I’ll admit, I used to skimp out on making sure that my face was 100% free of makeup before I sleep (I used to try to remove everything by using a one-step generic face wash, hoping that it would remove my makeup AND cleanse my face). Little did I realize that not only was this was ineffective in washing off all makeup, it was also the cause of random sebum plugs that was trapped underneath my skin. However, I recently came across Shu Uemura’sHigh Performance Balancing Cleansing Oil, which literally melts off all the makeup on my face—even waterproof mascara!

Shu Uemura’s cleansing oil is designed to break down all traces of makeup on the face. It works through the most resilient of products, so if you wear sunscreen, primer, heavy coverage foundation, and waterproof makeup products, this oil cleanser is great for you.

My favorite part about this cleanser is that it’s gentle on the skin, but effective at the same time. Unlike many face cleansers, ShuUemura’s cleansing oil does not strip the skin of natural oils, nor does it leave your face feeling tight and sensitive. I love that it leaves my skin feeling clean and supple!

According to the instructions, you only need about 2-3 pumps. Dispense the product onto your palms and massage onto the face. Work the product even all over, making sure you have removed all traces of makeup. Unlike regular oils like olive or jojoba oil, Shu Uemura’s cleansing oil emulsifies when water is added. You only need to wash off after making sure you have dissolved all the makeup on your face. I like to use a gentle cleanser afterwards to remove any remaining makeup.

The only downside is the price tag that comes along with this otherwise wonderful product. For the large bottle, it is around $65…a price that most of us would not care to pay. However, according to the saleslady, the product lasts up to half a year…and for me (since I don’t wear makeup everyday), I’m sure it’ll last much longer (I’ve barely made a dent on mine yet!).
