I love to shop for makeup and beauty products from anywhere and everywhere—and can safely say that I buy a good amount from drugstores as well as department store cosmetic counters. Yet, many beauty proponents argue against the quality of drugstore buys, saying that it is not only made out of cheap materials, but will also likely ruin your skin.
I do have to admit—I’m probably less likely to purchase a drugstore product (such as foundation, powder, etc.) that I would be putting all over my face. If anything, I would do a thorough investigation on the ingredients in the product to make sure that there is not something that my skin will adversely react to.
At the same time however, some of my favorite beauty and makeup products are indeed purchased from my local drugstores. I’ve come to love that iconic green and pink tube of Maybelline’s Great Lash mascara, RoC’s retinol skincare formulas, Vaseline, Dicken’s Witch Hazel, Revlon’s nail polishes, NYX’s eyeshadows…amongst countless others that I use on a regular basis. Not only so, these products are absolutely cheap and comparable in terms of quality to their department store counterparts!
Truth be told, I love to browse the beauty aisle of my local CVS store in search of weekly deals and ridiculous steals (haha I rhymed!). Especially if there’s a cheaper, same-quality alternative to a department store version, my motto is always: why the heck not?
What are your thoughts? And also, PLEASE share some of your favorite drugstore products!!
