Making Sense of Scents

My Favorite Fragrances

fragrances
When it comes to fragrances I like a variety. For fall fragrances for the house, I like hot apple cider and warm pumpkin spice smells. And I like the warmer, sugary smells when it comes to what I wear as well. When I was in grade school, my favorite perfume was Vanilla Fields. I have also tried Burberry Touch, Bath & Body Works Fig & Brown Sugar, and currently Cashmere Glow, which has touches of vanilla and peaches in the scent.

For facial scrubs I like to alternate between purely clean, spa smells like eucalyptus and bright, citrus smells like orange and lemon to help wake up my skin. Clean & Clear makes a Morning Burst scrub that contains tiny, exfoliating beads to help smooth your skin. I alternate between thicker, luxurious facial creams and light, gel-like scrubs with citrus to keep my skin bright and glowing.

When it comes to lotions, fragrances like lavender or vanilla are soothing and calming to the skin. Many times lavender is used for pillow sprays and room fragrances to signal the brain to relax. I have had yoga instructors use it in their classrooms as well for the same effect.

Different scents evoke different feelings whether it’s alert, calm, energetic or relaxed. What scent typically suits you?

I really like the Cashmere Glow too! I seem to lean towards clean, citrusy scents....I love the smell of Aveda products too. This comment has been removed.
