Product Review of the New Bubble-Foam Hair Color

Hey guys! I’m kind of a newbie when it comes to writing product reviews here on TAAZ (although I’ve submit a bunch of other photo/video trends), but I thought I’d give it a shot! I was thinking about the various makeup/beauty products that I had the chance to try recently, and decided that I’d do a review on the Liese Hair Dye that’s pretty popular right now in Asia.

So as a background, I love coloring my hair. It’s taken quite a toll on the condition of my hair, but I’ve learned over the years how to minimize the damage and treat my hair against the harmful effects of coloring as much as possible (of course, I’ll have periods of time when I try not to over-process my hair by coloring and just let it relax). I’ve gotten my hair professionally colored before, as well as doing it myself at home (I’ve tried more at-home hair dye kits than I care to count!).

Anyways, at the suggestion of my friend (who recently came back from Japan), I tried out this cool-sounding hair dye kit by a brand with the name of “Liese.” Unlike your typical watery-formula hair dyes, Liese is in a formula-category of its own. In the bottle, it’s slightly runnier than your typical hair dye, but the foam-dispensing squeeze bottle is where the magic is at. You squeeze the bottle and it dispenses foam that you work into a lather on your hair (just like foamy shampoo). It’s a lot less drippy, messy…and its instructions are pretty easy to follow along!

That being said, let’s talk about the experience of using the product itself. My biggest gripe about it is the smell. When I began applying the foam to my hair, my eyes were literally watering (not sure if my eyes are more sensitive than most people’s or what). Otherwise, the stuff is pretty easy to apply and lathered up easily. My hair was pretty dark before I colored my hair, so I obviously wasn’t expecting it to lighten up drastically (as shown on the box), but I was pretty happy with my overall results!

I’ve seen them sell Liese hair products at Japanese grocery stores (I’ve seen some at Mitsuwa), and it’s definitely worth trying if you get to chance!

@spunkystyle my scalp is pretty sensitive. Do you think I could handle it? I was excited to try a new hair dye, but then read about the smell. I wasn't sure if it was going to be too strong for me. This comment has been removed.
