How to Conceal Dark Under Eye Circles

Best Eye Treatments

Eye Products
This is a common problem for majority of my clients from age 25 and upwards. I myself use an eye brightener because who are we kidding, I’m not getting any younger! It’s also very important that I use an eye cream both morning AND night. My reasoning behind using an eye cream is due to the fact that I want to treat the problem area, help it to improve and ultimately wear less concealer. It’s the solution to the problem rather than just covering it up.

The best eye creams are typically medical brands such as Murad Essential-C Eye Cream SPF 15 ($67), Perricone MD Cold Plasma Eye ($95) and Obagi Nu-Derm Eye Cream ($50+). However, these can be very pricey. If you do not have the extra cash to invest in an eye cream, I’ve also heard great things about Clinique All About Eyes Rich (small size is $29), Oil of Olay Regenerist Eye Lifting Serum (under $20), Ole Henrikson Ultimate Lift Eye Gel ($38) and Rhonda Allison Eye Lift (small size is $27 at my local esthetician’s salon).

Not only is it important to hydrate the eye area, but it’s equally important to start at an early age. I am very fortunate that my mother encouraged me to use moisturizer and eye cream at an early age, my teens to be exact. So it’s about prevention as well. I should also add that it’s important to not pull on the eye area as it is very fragile. Once that elasticity is gone, there is no turning back. So try to use the “roll and press” method when applying eye cream.

After your eye treatment, you now have a choice to conceal your dark circles with a concealer or a brightener. If you have very dark circles, I recommend Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer and Concealer Pencil (apply the pencil in the waterline). If your under eye problem is minimal, then I recommend a brightening pen such as YSL Touche Eclat or Clarins Instant Light Brush-On Perfector. They both work gorgeously! Also, they can be used anywhere there is unwanted shadow such as the smile lines, around the nose and expression lines under the mouth area.

I have never heard of a concealer pencil or brightening pen, but I like the sound of using both. This comment has been removed.
