Awesome article @shadow_pro ! Great rec on the fragrance finder, too. I test a fragrance multiple times throughout a month before deciding whether or not I like it. The way it smells on women's skin (and my own perception of smells) changes on a cyclic basis (yay, female bio), so I make sure that my fragrance and I have good chemistry for more than a week out of the month before dropping money. ;o) This comment has been removed.

Key for any perfume shopping: request a sample in-store. Never, ever, buy a full bottle of perfume without first giving it a test run. Sephora will give you a tiny plastic decanter with your choice fragrance if you ask nicely. For more obscure or international scents, tiny samples (imps) can be purchased at http://luckyscent.com/ and http://www.blackphoenixalchemylab.com/welcome.html . This comment has been removed.

I love vanilla smells but don't want to smell like a candle, does anyone know of some good perfumes to try? This comment has been removed.

I always have a hard time choosing a perfume so thanks for the tips! I'll definitely use that Sephora Scent Finder tool next time I'm in the store :) This comment has been removed.
