A List of My Top Foundation Picks
The barely-there foundation: MAC Face and Body Foundation
On the days I’m too lazy to go through my usual makeup routine in the mornings, I’ll quickly apply my trust MAC Face and Body Foundation. It’s a super sheer coverage foundation that you can build up to medium coverage if you choose to. One word of caution though, however, its consistency is extremely runny and takes a while getting used to. However, I love the sheer, glowy texture of this foundation…it’s great on those days you want your skin to shine through and appear natural!
The radiant, dewy glow foundation: Clarins Skin Illusions
I’ve seen women recommend this foundation—both on TAAZ and in person when I was at the mall—so I decided to give it a try. I’m usually a little wary of trying new foundations (you are, after all, committed to using up the bottle once you purchase it). However, I was pleasantly surprised at how well Clarins works for me. As a French brand that prides itself on natural ingredients, Clarins offers a line of skincare and makeup that I find very appealing. The foundation is very luminous and of a light-reflecting type, so it’s great for all ages.
The natural, medium-coverage foundation: Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua
I chanced upon this product by accident when I was waiting for my friend to try out some fragrances at the Chanel counter. The saleslady gave me a sample of this to try out at home, and I didn't think much of it until I ran out of foundation a week later and decided to give this a try. I was really surprised at how lightweight the texture was…it really doesn’t feel like you’re wearing any foundation at all! The finish is flawless and gorgeous…definitely a great foundation if you have the extra bucks to splurge.
The full-coverage, budge-proof foundation: Estee Lauder Double Wear
Estee Lauder Double Wear is a cult-classic foundation for millions of women all over. It is a little on the heavier side in terms of coverage, but it performs extremely well for events, formal occasions, and is pretty resilient/budge-proof. It has somewhat of a more matte finish. My favorite is mixing a bit if it into my lighter foundations on those days I’m looking for somewhat heavier coverage.
