More and more women are now showing turning up with cases of osteoporosis due to postmenopausal bone loss. We now spend fewer years of our lives without diseases although we live for longer. Millions of senior citizens around the world are suffering from ill health due to faulty lifestyle habits they adopted at a young age. Some health problem and common ailments that generally affect senior citizens are blood pressure, cardiac problems, diabetes, joint pains, kidney infections, cancer, tuberculosis etc. Once they occur, these diseases may take a long time to heal due to old age. Vitamins like vitamin A is known to improve memory and vision and can be found in plenty of fruits, nuts and meats. Little activities like solving word puzzles and playing Sudoku keep the mind active and alert at all times and increases a person’s ability to remember things. It even helps in keeping diseases like Alzheimer’s at bay. Regular physical exercise will ensure all the joints in your body remain healthy and pain free. Exercise increases metabolic activity in the body and increases blood flow to all the organs. It releases endorphins, which are natural pain killers, making a person feel more relaxed yet energetic at the same time.
