How to Maximize Closet Space

How to Maximize Closet Space
Closet space just never seems big enough no matter how big our closets are. If it were up to me, I’d have a whole separate room that would serve as my closet, but until then, I’ve become creative when maximizing my closet space.ADVERTISEMENT
Step 1: Stack to Save Space
Leave your shoes in the boxes and stack them vertically. Saving clunky boxes might seem like they might take up more space, but really when you stack them up, it keeps them organized and within easy reach. For your flip flops and casual flats, keep them stowed away in a plastic bin. You can stack plastic bins to keep smaller items in one spot like scarves, belts and your gym bag (that’s what I use mine for).
Step 2: Fold Smaller Garments
I used to hang up everything even my t-shirts and tank tops. But, even though they don’t take up much space, the hangers do. Fold all t-shirts, tank tops and skirts that won’t wrinkle and put them away in a dresser. You can also roll t-shirts to stow away to save even more room, especially the ones you don’t wear often.
Step 3: Coordinate Your Clothes
I color-coordinate my closet, but some of my friends organize theirs by size, meaning they put short-sleeve, long-sleeve, sweaters, etc. in order. While this might not save too much space, it makes your closet easier to navigate. Also, it will show which items are worn less and those can be stowed under a bed or on a top shelf of a closet. What are your closet space saving secrets?
