Colors that come to mind when I think of Thanksgiving are: browns, yellows and oranges, just like the leaves of fall. With this cornucopia of warm colors, there are different ways to play up your nails to get into the start of the holiday season.

Mixing the colors in any way will create a color palette that people associate with Thanksgiving. Brown can actually look pretty chic especially if you choose a different variation on the color like a rich chocolate brown or a coppery hue. Both colors would be best fit for short, squared nails for a chic, but simple self-done manicure.

To play more with colors, branch out to bright yellows with added orange by way of stripes, dots or any other nail design you can come up with. In my experience with yellow polish, depending on the brand you use, you will have to layer on multiple coats to get a full color. Otherwise, the result will look watery and not very flattering on the nails.

Go turkey time with your nails if you find that you want to be daring and really creative when it comes to the holiday. Whether you put a design on every nail or just stick to one, any kind of drawn design is impressive when it comes to nail art. Plus, it looks fun!

If none of these colors top your favorites, the best thing about the holidays is that sparkle is always welcome. Choose a warmer gold or rose gold glittery polish to spice up your Turkey Day nail color.

Gobble, gobble!
