I love seeing photos of nail art - a lot of it right here on Taaz, but I must admit that I am not that skilled when it comes to design for my nails. Luckily for me, there are tons of ways to have fun with nail polish that doesn’t involve intricate designs.

The trends of the season often include jewel tones and festive reds and then metallics as holiday parties roll around. But if you want to switch it up a little bit you can try color blocking with nails. Choose either two colors and switch colors for every other nail. Or, choose one nail to be a bright shade and keep the rest neutral or vice versa. And if you’re wanting to use several colors at once, paint a different shade for every finger on one hand and then do the same for the other, keeping all the shades in the same color family.

Try a metallic french manicure for an updated twist on a classic nail look. The first time I saw the look was on Jessica Biel where she used a gunmetal silver to line the top of her nails. The color helps the nails stand out while keeping them ladylike. Gold on top of brown, purple or orange is a fun look for fall. Silver on top of red, green or black will be a perfect look for Christmas or New Year’s.

If you don’t want to get crazy with color, add on some jewels. Attaching mini rhinestones gives your nails insta-glamour without much work. You don’t even have to add them to every nail. It’s a look that’s unexpected, but feels special even if you’re just wearing them to work during the week. It’s inexpensive to keep up with nail trends, and even if you aren’t as creative as you’d like to be, there are still simple ways like these to help you get beautifully polished nails.

No nails are too small! Biting them, however isn't such a good habit..so try picking up one of those remedies from the chemist that you can put on your nails with a horrible flavour to reduce biting. In the meantime, paint them anyway for a bit of glam! :) x This comment has been removed.
