What to Expect This Spring

Spring fever will start setting in before we know it and spring trends have already begun to emerge. Whether or not certain trends get recycled, and they almost always do, it's always fun to look forward to what's new for the season. From early looks it appears to be that natural makeup is going to be popular this spring.

Dewy faces. Beautiful, glowing skin never goes out of style. Even during the winter making sure our skin is well-moisturized and hydrated will ensure that our skin looks its best. A silky makeup primer and a creamy, tinted moisturizer should be two products always kept in a makeup bag to create a smooth base.

Glossy lips. Winter lip colors like crimson and plum will slowly start to be replaced by a neutral-toned lip or a baby pink glossy finish. The natural perk of such a subtle lip is that it makes are lips look plump and healthy. As long as we slough off dry skin and pay attention to any cracking caused by harsh winter winds, glossy lips will maximize natural beauty.

Colorful eyeliner. Even if you decide to go au natural for your makeup, a little color can go a long way. A smudged, eyeliner in a fresh spring color like green or lilac will look pretty paired with a fresh-faced makeup base.

I love that the makeup looks lately have concentrated more on enhancing natural features and not covering everything up with color. I'm sure a few bold trends will emerge soon, but for now, a barely there makeup trend makes me excited.

What do you think of a neutral-based makeup trend? Pretty and polished or too tame?

I love the look of the dewy skin but I'm always careful that I don't accentuate "dewy" around my crows feet and wrinkles....ugh! Love the colorful eyeliner trend! This comment has been removed.
