Mineral makeup is a perfect solution for anyone who wants lightweight, buildable coverage that matches and blends effortlessly with your skin. Buildable coverage can vary from on-the-spot concealing to full-coverage for more formal occasions such as weddings and dances. Also, if you have acne-prone or sensitive skin, mineral makeup is safe and ideal for these skin types. Here are the steps to create a “bare skin” look with mineral foundation!
Step 1: Prep
Start the day with moisturizer and primer. The best primers are creamy, so they help to blend and warm with the minerals. Also, you can benefit from foundation primer, as it will give you a smooth and flawless complexion. Think of primer as a road paver. It won’t clog your pores, but it will fill in large pores, wrinkles and so forth. Not to mention, it will keep your makeup on longer with fewer touch-ups.
Step 2: Foundation
Using a small concealer brush, cover any imperfections with your mineral foundation first. Now, you can apply your foundation. Tap a small mound or two into your lid. Then, work your big brush called "Full Flawless Face" into the lid, swishing it around to pick up the minerals. Tap the metal part of the brush onto the lid to release any loose minerals. Go ahead and buff the foundation on using the same circular motions. Why are you applying in circular motions rather than sweeping it on in small strokes? Well, the circular motions help to warm the minerals to a creamy finish and ultimately blend your foundation seamlessly into your skin.
Step 3: Finishing Powder
Next, buff on the mineral veil. You only want to use a small amount, as this should go on translucent. If you notice a white cast, then you are applying too much. The purpose of the mineral veil is to give the makeup a POLISHED look and keep your makeup from fading as it can absorb excess moisture and oil that you encounter throughout the day. I actually love to use this product on days that I don't want to wear makeup, and I don't want to look shiny. It's also fantastic for setting any liquids (moisturizers, foundations, concealers, etc.)
Step 4: Color
Finally, apply color to the face to finish your look. Bare Minerals’ bronzer called “Warmth” or Ready "The High Dive" is excellent as a multitasking bronzer and blush. Buff this terracotta bronze shade on the forehead, around the temples and slightly all over the face using your medium-sized brush called "Flawless Face". Tip: You can also use this bronzer to darken your foundation. Apply a layer of “Warmth” all over the face PRIOR to your foundation.
Step 5: Foundation Color Match
It’s best to color match in person at Sephora, Ulta or at a Bare Escentuals counter or boutique. However, if you need my assistance, just message me!
