Eyeliner Transfers

Temporary Transfer Tattoos of Eyeliner.

Eye rock
Recently, everywhere I look I've noticed these temporary eyeliner transfers. The designs range from simple flicked lines to elaborate swirling patterns, and the majority of them are applied with water directly to the eyelid, much like children’s temporary tattoos.

They claim to be the magical cure to all eyeliner related problems; such as wearing away, smudging, and wonky lines.
You can get them anywhere and everywhere, from market stalls to makeup shops; pharmacies/chemists (such as boots) and the internet. The prices that I have seen range from 50p to £27 (although why someone would want to pay that much is beyond my knowledge).

I bought a few relatively cheap pairs of simple eyeliner flicks from a stall in a shopping centre. The packaging claimed a “quick and easy” application, but I found it rather difficult and time consuming. Being left handed, I started with my left eye as I always do when applying eye makeup. The first transfer I applied, or rather attempted to apply, stayed mostly stuck to the transfer paper. My second try worked slightly better – the whole transfer applied, except not quite in the right place. On my third and final try I thought I had finally got it right… but then I blinked and the transfer creased and stuck together. Having wasted half an hour and £7.50, I decided to give up. I removed the transfer and applied my felt tip eyeliner as usual, which seemed simple in comparison to applying the transfers.

The conclusion I came to is that eyeliner transfers are a complete and utter waste of time, but maybe that’s just me. Why not try them for yourself and find out? :) xo

@courtney2bambi I found it difficult but you and your friend might find it easier :) I might attempt it again because you know what they say, "practice makes perfect" :) This comment has been removed.

Hmmm, very interesting. I might recommend these to my friend who would probably be better at applying than I. ;) This comment has been removed.
