The greatest beauty faux pas? Tan lines. There's nothing so tacky as strap lines on your shoulders or the reverse racoon (when the skin around your eyes is light because of sunglasses while the rest of your face is tan). Unfortunately, even the most precatious sun worshippers wind up with zebra stripes. Never fear. Here's how to hide a tan line with makeup in a pinch. Try on summer makeup and a summer tan now!

You can hide tan lines and create the illusion of an even tan. First, exfoliate the lighter skin that is untouched by the sun, dab moisturizer on with your fingers, and follow up with an application of instant bronzing gel or foundation. Blend with a sponge.

For a longer lasting even tan, you can apply sunless tanning lotion on the desired areas with a precision foundation brush (be sure to wash it well when you're finished). Keep future tan lines at bay by switching up your swimwear—halter, bandeau, string bikini, repeat—all summer long.

^Thanks for the tip! I'm not very good with self-tanners because it always seems to streak on me :(. but i do have some bronzer lying around, so i'm gonna try that :D This comment has been removed.

I like hiding tan lines with a bronzing powder also. It's better to use a matte bronzer tho (that has no glitter/sparkles in it)...it'll look more natural! This comment has been removed.
