How to Do 1960s Twiggy Inspired Makeup

Twiggy Makeup
The swingin' 60s have inspired current trends and Halloween costumes alike and no model was more revered during that era than Twiggy. If you don't want to rock a bona fide pixie hairstyle, a sharp sixties bob with blunt bangs is perfect for creating this look or you can backcomb you hair into a beehive and pull it into a low or side ponytail. Don't forget the hot pants and go-go boots, or for a truly modern interpretation of this look, scour your own closet for leggings...you can create geometric cutouts with scissors and pair the look with a vestor sequined top. Try on Twiggy makeup in our virtual makeover studio.

Distinctively dark, smoky eyes and pale lips (think nude or even white) re-create the mod mood of the 1960s with ease. Gently brush a soft charcoal eye shadow on to the lids and halfway up to the brow and continue the color underneath so you you have almost created a circle. Dramatical kohl liner should rim the eyes and top and bottom lashes should be generously coated with black mascara. Curl your lashes with an eyelash curler or consider falses eyelashes for a Twiggy-inspired look. You can draw on your lower lashes with a black eyeliner pencil or wear false eyelashes on the bottom. A lightly tanned complexion with a foundation or powder finish will accentuate smokin' eyes. Skip blush unless it's pale pink or apply bronzer underneath the cheekbones for a sculpted look.
