Easy Ways to Change Your Look
Change Your Hairstyle
One of the easiest ways to switch up your look is to change the way you wear your hair. After all, your hair is your greatest cosmetic feature. All it takes is a heat styling tool and a few key products. Curly-haired girls can straighten their hair with the use of heat protective spray and a ceramic (preferably tourmaline) flatiron. Simply divide your hair into sections and spritz with the heat protectant, allowing a few seconds for it to dry. Proceed to run the iron through the hair slowly, starting at the root and working your way down to the ends. Repeat the process until your whole head is done, for a look that is both sophisticated and sexy. Straight-haired girls can add volume and curl with the use of mousse, a heat protective spray, and a large-barrel curling iron. First, apply mousse to semi-damp hair, and then allow hair to dry. Mist hair with the heat protectant, allowing time for the product to absorb. Divide hair into small portions, wrapping each section around the curling iron until you end up with a head full of curls.
Try a New Lipstick
Another quick and easy way to change your look is simply to change your color scheme. More specifically, to all the neutral and nude-lipped girls out there, go red! Take a good look at your complexion to determine whether you are cool or warm-toned. Once you have that information, select a red that will best flatter your overall coloring. Cool girls will benefit from cooler, blue-toned reds, while the warm-toned gals will find a much more flattering fit in a warm, orangey-red. To apply, first line lips in a similar shade of lip liner, taking care to fill in the lips to ensure that the lipstick stays put. Then, grab your favorite lip brush and proceed to apply your red of choice. Going red (lipped) has never been easier—and it can have a dramatic, eye-catching effect on your appearance.
Get in Line
Last but not least, a great way to change your look is to change the way that you apply your eye liner. The winged cat eye is always a beauty do, and can easily be achieved with gel eye liners. To get the look, grab your favorite fine-tipped brush, and a gel liner in a shade of your choice. Try to find a spot that is brightly lit and has a large mirror, preferably with enough space for you to firmly plant your elbow while you apply. Have a seat, prop your elbow, and stare straight into the mirror, eyes slightly downcast. Proceed to paint the liner on, as close to the lash line as possible, until the length of the lash line is completely lined. To get the perfect flick—so crucial to a cat eye effect—follow the line of your lower lash line, extending it at a slight diagonal past your eye. Connect the flick to the rest of your liner, and you are done.
