Peacock Makeup
When it comes to pairing colors, Mother Nature knows best. Now’s a fine time for experimenting with the electrifying colors of the peacock to create a stunning Halloween look, perfect for costume party.ADVERTISEMENT
Step 1: Try on Peacock Makeup in our virtual makeup studio.
The peacock is the animal kingdom’s most notorious show-off. The brilliant blues, teals, olive greens and bronze hues that the peacock flaunts on its tail feathers are the same colors that flatter most skin tones.
Step 2: Peacock Face
Start with a primer, such as M.A.C Prep + Prime Skin, to make your skin smooth and give a dewy finish. You want to use a a liquid foundation, like Make Up For Ever HD Foundation, so that you can maximize the glow of your skin. Once you are finished applying your foundation, set it and smooth it out with a loose powder, like Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder.
Step 3: Peacock Eyes
For these peacock eyes we are trying to replicate the effect and colors of their gorgeous feathers.Prep the eye with a cream base; pick something with a golden-bronze tone like M.A.C Paint Pot in Rubenesque. Start at the lash line and blend all the way up to the brow bone, bringing it around to the inner corner and lower eyelid. Using a base will make your color last longer and give intensity to other color pigments you use.
Step 4:
Next, highlight underneath the brow bone using a pearl eye shadow like Clinique Pair of Shadows' Eye Shadow Duo in Ivory Bisque.
Step 5:
Create depth to the eye by using a golden-bronze shadow, like M.A.C Eyeshadow in Woodwinked, throughout the crease and across the eyelid. You want to build up the color in the crease area by sweeping your brush in a windshield wiper motion. Be sure to blend it all the way across the lid so that you don't have any harsh edges.
Step 6:
Magnify the eyes by lining them into a cat eye shape using a dark blue eye shadow and an angled brush. Swipe the brush across the lash line and wing it out as you get toward the end of the lash line. You want your liner color to have a bold and intense look so build the color toward the outer corner while lengthening to that cat eye shape. Line the lower lid using the same blue, then start halfway through the lid and connect it with the cat eye.
Step 7:
Brighten the inner corner of your eyes by lining the first half of the lower lid with an aqua blue eye shadow.
Step 8:
Rim the waterline using an aqua colored eyeliner. Finish the look by adding voluminous false lashes in blue and applying two coats of blue mascara to your top and bottom lashes. (We recommend Max Factor Lash Perfection Mascara in Deep Blue 744)
Step 9: Peacock Cheeks
Keep your cheeks subtle by using a bronze/pink blush like NARS The Multiple Cream Blush in Maui. Apply blush to the apples of your cheeks and lightly glide the color up towards the temple area. For an added highlighting effect, apply a small amout of highlighting powder over the color.
Step 10: Peacock Lips
Line your lips with a bright creamy lip liner before applying your lipstick. We like Clinique Quickliner for Lips in Crushed Berry and M.A.C Viva Glam Lipstick in Viva Glam 111. Apply a generous amount of lipstick to your top lip and smack your lips together to blend in the lip liner and lipstick. Finish by adding some shine with a clear or light pink lip gloss like Sephora Sweet Candy Gloss in Tropical Jasmine.

Try using a blue liquid liner instead. I really like the ones from MAC...they're super vivid and stay on pretty well :) This comment has been removed.
