Feel like channeling Studio 54? It’s relatively easy to look the part of a ’70s disco queen with outrageous makeup alone, although who are we to stop you from embracing a micro mini, platform shoes, a pink feather boa and a full-bodied blond afro hairstyle? Here's how to style it up circa 1970.

Step 1: Disco Eyes

To make the colors in your eyeshadow really pop, you'll need to use a primer on your eyelid.

Step 2:

Take your favorite eye primer or try Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Sin (it has a shimmer to it already and will add more dimension to the metallic shadow finish) and apply it to both your upper and outer half of your lower lid, and then extend it to your brow bone.

Step 3:

Place a tissue beneath your eye in order to catch any fallout from the eyeshadow. Using a packing brush, pat NARS Single Eyeshadow in Night Sun in an arch just above the crease of your eye. Follow the shape of your brows until you reach the highest point of your arch and then round it out toward the outside of your eye. With a clean blending brush, blend the outer edge of the shape you created with small circular motions.

Step 4:

Clean your packing brush and then use it with a vibrant pink shadow (we suggest the pink from NARS Duo Shadow in Divine, which can be built up with multiple layers for a more intense pink) to fill in the space between your lashline and the Night Sun Shadow. This should be swept close to the waterline of the outer half of your lower lid. With a clean blending brush, blend the outer edge of the pink on your lower lids downward until it creates a slightly smokey look.

Step 5:

Next, move your blending brush in small circles across the line where your pink color meets the gold on your upper lid.

Step 6:

Remove the tissue from beneath your eye. Use a thin agled brush to sweep black gel liner from the outside corner of your eye towards the inner corner, keeping it close to the lashline of your upper lashes. You do not want the black to overwhelm the bright colors of the shadow, so keep your eyeshadow as thin as possible. For the lower lashes, start close to your waterline at the outer corner of your eye and drag the brush gently across the lashline, lifting away from your eye gradually as you approach the halfway point (creating a thinner, tapering line at the center of your eye).

Apply a coat of your facorite black mascara to your top and bottom lashes. For an extra-dramatic effect add false lashes.

Step 7: Disco Lips

Wear a loud pink lipstick (like Wet 'n' Wild Silk Finish Lipstick in Hot Paris (520E) or CHANEL Rouge Double Intensite Ultra Wear Lip colour in Ruby Lite), adding a clear or pink-tinted gloss on top of it for extra shine.

Step 8: Disco Face

Brush a peach-colored blush (try Prescriptives "U-Pick" Cheek Color in Pompeii) onto the apple of your cheek with a fluffy brush. Using diagonal strokes, blend the blush so that just a spot of color is visible on each cheek.
