What Are You Wearing for Halloween?

Trying to think of last minute costume ideas? You don’t have to be in full costume to feel festive for the weekend before Halloween. There are a lot of things you can pull together with items in your house. Honestly, you can wrap yourself in toilet paper from head-to-toe and go as a mummy. My friend did that one year when I was a kid and I thought it was so cool. Just pray it doesn’t rain!

Don’t want to be a mummy? Do you have leftover Mardi Gras beads from the last party, bar promotion, or Homecoming game stored away somewhere in your closet? If you do, put on an all black outfit, pile on the beads and paint up your face like a Mardi Gras parade goer. I wore this outfit one year except I had this really elaborate feathered mask instead. Inexpensive and a little more original than being a cat, witch, or nurse.

A zombie. It’s all the rage this year and with the popularity of The Walking Dead why shouldn’t it be? This is where makeup comes in and the more dramatic and “deathly” the better. Because there is no zombie standard, you can get creative with what kind of zombie you want to be. Maybe you want be an office zombie -- how you feel and look by the end of the week, exhuasted and over-caffeinated!

If none of these ideas strike your fancy, have a theme party. Have all your friends come in their best vintage store finds or see who can wear the ugliest sweater, the most outrageous hat. Whatever it is, have fun and be safe during the holiday festivities!

@vamp1967-2 Oh hahaha - that would be something! You probably had to look slightly to right of her so you didn't bust out laughing during the interview. This comment has been removed.

Thanks for these costume ideas. It's great to just make something up with things you already have at home, but usually those are the things everyone else does. I dig the Mardi Gras parade goer idea. I think I'll do that this year. This comment has been removed.
