Ways to Wear Brown
Caramel macchiato clothing. Light tans and beige tones can really look chic and elegant depending on the fabric you choose. A light cotton or silk blend are excellent choices that can be worn separately or layered in different ways. A light pair of pants paired with a deep jewel-toned blouse in a color like teal or dark purple would be a good combination both for work and for play. By mixing light and dark colors, it can keep an outfit from being too one-dimensional.
Mocha-colored makeup. I’m a big fan of browns and golds. For my eye makeup, I typically swipe a lighter tan or almond color over my entire lid and then further define my crease with a darker, mocha shadow. This is a different take on the popular dark blue, smokey eye and is easy to do. Also, I think coppery-brown nail polishes add a shimmery touch to any outfit.
Java chip jewelry. Brown jewels or beads are a funky way to add style to an outfit. It’s an unexpected color and provides a fun variation from my go-to metallics. One tip would be not to be come too matchy-matchy with brown jewelry (or any jewelry for that matter) because instead of making your outfit pop, it will make it look weighed down.
These are only a few ways in which you can wear brown. Have fun with different shades and tones and don’t overlook it as an essential color!
