What Will Be New in 2013?

‘Tis the time to make resolutions. With 2013 upon us, it’s the perfect time to start thinking about what we want to try to change or what we want to work on in the new year. This doesn’t have to only apply to getting to the gym more or crossing things off our bucket list; our beauty and fashion outlook can be adjusted as well.

What will you do differently in 2013? Here are a list of things I have on my list:

- Wash and moisturize my face every night. I have done better this year, but I don’t have a 100% good track record when it comes to washing my makeup off at night and keeping my skin healthy. With the introduction of my new favorite makeup wipes, it has become easier to keep devoted to skin and take those few extra minutes of maintenance to keep things looking good.

- Wear more color. I’ve made this pledge for the past few years and slowly but surely I have seen my wardrobe change from ALL black to mostly black. I wore bright pink tights to work the other day underneath a plain, black dress so I feel like I’m headed in the right direction. I know I’ll never be a person that has a color-dominated wardrobe, but I would like to switch things up.

- Always carry sunglasses. I have a bad habit of stuffing sunglasses into the depths of my bag where they become smashed or lost or not within reach when I’m driving home from work. Wearing sunglasses will help protect my face as I grow older, so I can hopefully slow down the unwelcome wrinkles that are inevitably to come.

- Splurge. In college, I splurged when I shouldn’t; so much that years later, I seem to talk myself out of major fashion or beauty purchases because I don’t want to fall back into bad habits. However, finding a happy medium will make sure that my fashion and beauty wants are fulfilled, while also being conscious of my bank account.

Change is good and it’s fun to make resolutions. Which fashion or beauty resolutions are on your list?

I think we should all look for the beauty in others, and compliment them for it. This comment has been removed.
