We expose our hair to a lot of damaging elements like heating tools, pool water and color dye. So it’s important to treat it with the right products. In fact, some of these items you may already have at home!

Step 1: Leave-In Treatments
This is something that you should do weekly to your hair. It can be a deep conditioner or even your own hair conditioner that you use in the shower. Leave in your hair for 10 minutes every week.
Another option is to use oil and treat the bottom portion of your hair. You don’t want oil anywhere near your roots. Otherwise, you’ll have greasy hair. Ew gross! As I was saying, apply a natural oil such as olive or Argan oil to the ends of your hair. If you use olive oil, you will need to wash it out afterwards.
Step 2: Heat Protectant Spray
To make your own at home, you will need hair conditioner, water and an empty spray bottle. Mix 1 tablespoon of conditioner with 4 ounces of water. Spritz this concoction on your hair before curling or straightening. Also, make sure that your hair is dry and not damp before ever touching it to a heating tool! Also, Argan oil can also be used as a heat prep.
Step 3: Moisturizing Shampoo & Conditioner
Most people aren’t using the right shampoo and conditioner. It doesn’t have to be a salon brand, but make sure that it’s moisturizing like from Dove, Pantene or Tresemme. I noticed a huge difference when I switched over to moisturizing types. They’re great for colored hair as well!

I agree! Great tips! The deep conditioning hair masks can make a big difference. I love the Kerastase mask....I use it once a week and my hair feels like silk! Thanks for sharing! This comment has been removed.
