How To: The Perfect Blowout

If you love smooth, bouncy hair that you can get from the hair salon but hate paying the price each time, then this “How To” will save you mucho dinero! Let’s get started! You will need a wide-tooth comb, hair clips, volumizing mousse or spray, round brush, blow dryer and hair spray.

Step 1: Hair Prep

Start with freshly washed hair. Spritz a little detangler spray, and comb out using your wide-tooth comb. If you don’t have a detangler spray, you can always mix a little water and conditioner and spray your homemade concoction onto your hair.

To add volume, apply a volumizing mousse or spray to your roots and crown of your head. I recommend Bumble and bumble Thickening Hairspray or Blow Up Thickening Mist from Blow. Both work amazingly!!

Step 2: Blow Out

Now, you’re going to clip your hair into 6 sections. The 3 in the front should be two on the sides and one in the middle while the 3 back sections begin at the crown of your head and go downward.

Take your round brush and blow dry each section forward. Make sure that your blow dryer is facing downward to promote smooth, soft hair.

Step 3: Pin Up Girl

Once you are done with each section, pin it back up. When you are done, you want to use your hairspray to keep everything in place. A flexible, styling spray is best, but any hairspray will help to prolong your work.

Step 4: Toss & Turn

Now it’s time to show off your hard work! Un-pin everything, and spray it again with your hair spray. Work it, girl!
