Hairstyles That Will make Your Summer Sizzle

Hollywoods Hottest Hairstyles
Beach waves and ballerina buns are back for Summer 2011.

Looking for tips on how to give your hair a beach-chic makeover? TAAZ has all the tips on the "in's" and "out's" of this season.

Actress Shay Mitchell shows us one of this summer's hottest hairstyles, the high ballerina bun.

The high ballerina bun is a fun and easy hairstyle for a hot summer night out. To achieve this look, flip your head upside down and brush your hair into a high ponytail that rests at the top of your head.

Once your hair is pulled up, loosely wrap the rest of the hair around the base and secure with a hair tie and bobby pins. Spray the entire hairstyle with a light hold hairspray to control unwanted flyaways.

The side braid is back and ready to work it this summer. This popular hairstyle has become a summer must if you want to look and feel playful. One of the great things about the side braid is its flexibility. This style can be worn during the day or on a hot night out.

To achieve this look, make a deep side part and bring the hair over to the side. Braid the hair, and secure the end with a small hair tie. If you have layers, allow a few small strands to peep out. This will give your hair an un-done quality that is casual, but still super-stylish.

Every summer there is one hairstyle that makes its way from the shopping mall to the red carpet. Bold beach waves are back! Beach waves are a great way to play up your summer glow and your favorite summer makeup trends.

To get these beautiful beach waves, start by separating your hair into several two inch sections. Curl each section up to cheekbone-level and release the iron barrel. Once all of your hair is curled, spray with a medium hold texturizing spray.

Looking for a way to skip the iron? Gather all of your hair while it's damp, and braid it into a tight French braid. Wait until your hair is completely dry, and then gently undo the braid. Run your fingers through your hair a couple of times to make it look more natural and less partitioned.  Avoid using a comb or brush: the waves will turn bushy.

Short Hair is a great option for summer. Short hair adds a lot of texture and bounce to your overall look. Add layers to a short crop and stay away from the fringe. Broken edges are definitely the way to go this summer.

For short hair, styling should be fun and quick. Bring out your layers with a texturizing balm, and add shine with a light shine serum.
