Hot Pink on the Color Trend Circuit

hot pink
As an owner of a mainly black wardrobe, hot pink rarely is a color that is seen in my wardrobe. However, the lure of hot pink has really made a splash this summer and for good reason - it looks great with a summer tan! Maybe hot pink isn't exactly your color either, but there are subtle ways to incorporate it into your outfit; although the color itself isn't subtle at all.

Did any of you go to the $1 flip flop sale at Old Navy yesterday? If you did, or even if you missed out, you can get a hot pink pair there for very inexpensive. Wear them to the beach or add the punch of color that your next casual outfit might need.

Hot pink lips really make a statement and look great with bronzed skin. Find the shade that works for you, but for summer, I suggest gloss over matte for a super glam look.

Swimsuit pieces are a clever way to incorporate the color. You might not want hot pink head to toe, but by mixing and matching prints and colors, you can sneak the color and still stand out.

And, every girl needs a handbag that pops. I have a hot pink crossbody bag that always makes a fashion statement. It looks great with all neutral colors and khaki tones and can serve as the perfect bright accessory.

These are only a few examples of what to do with this summer's color trend, but really it can show up on anything and everything as a complementary color. In the burst of neon colors that have hit the scene, it's a little hard to turn down hot pink!
