I hadn't been to Forever 21 for a couple of months, but San Diego just opened up a brand new store, which has two floors and separate sections devoted to different styles, shoes, accessories and their beauty line. When I first started shopping at Forever 21, the stores I visited were too much merchandise and not enough organization, cramped spaces, and a tad overwhelming. However, over time I feel that they are embracing their brand and really having their stores be designed in a manner that is helpful for their shoppers.

Styles are usually divided by section - whether it is nautical stripes, romantic florals, bold colors or all black and white, it helps people keep from being overwhelmed with so many trends at one time in a divide and conquer kind of way. Shoes have their own area as well and they seem to have increased the different kinds they carry. Accessories have always been a favorite at mine at the store and can now be found according to jewelry, tights, bags, etc. Their cocktail rings and earrings are usually around the $4.00 mark.

The newest addition for me is their makeup line - Love and Beauty. They carry makeup remover facial wipes ($1.80/30 pack), cute makeup bags ($1.80), and individual lip glosses and makeup palettes under $5. I bought a bottle of nail polish for $2.80 in Taupe (a shade I've been wanting) and it went on smoothly without having to paint on several coats. They also have makeup brushes that vary in size and price but nothing over $10. While we have our favorites in products and the quality may not compare to some higher end brands, if you just are beginning to experiment with makeup, their brushes are a good price or can make a good gift for someone. You can get a blinged out or leopard print handle, which makes it more fun.

Forever 21 carries a lot of trends that are always changing, not all that I'm on board with, and some that I am outgrowing. However, they are creating a better shopping experience so I am still drawn to certain aspects of their store and know how to use it to my wardrobe advantage.
