Street Style San Diego: Beach Bums

What Trendsetters Are Wearing in America's Finest City

The weather was unbelievable last week in San Diego, so the only logical thing to do was head down to the beach to catch some sunshine.
My husband and I hopped on our beach cruisers and went for a long, relaxing bike ride on the boardwalk in Mission Beach, where I spotted some great San Diego street style.
The first fashion-forward beachgoers that stood out to me were this trio of friends who all had their own unique styles as they strolled along the boardwalk. They played up major trends in with their ensembles, including stripes, color blocking and crossbody bags. Their looks were well put together, but still laid back enough for a day at Mission Beach.

Then there was this cute couple, who busted out the shorts and tees for a boardwalk stroll. Her outfit was basic and comfortable, while her man added some fashionable flare with a newsboy cap and printed shorts.

My favorite street style trend of the day was this adorable sweater and skinny jeans combo spotted on the sand. This fashionista was sporting the short Michelle Williams hairdo, Ray-Bans, a comfy neutral striped sweater and bright blue skinnies for a totally hip style. Her companion looked nice too with a plaid shirt and slim jeans, but of the two, she took the style crown, by far.

I also spotted this woman wearing a royal blue maxi dress, paired with a black cardigan, black handbag and sandals. Her outfit was flowing in the beachy breeze, begging for spring to roll around quickly.

Of course, there were also plenty of stylish San Diegans working out on the boardwalk too. This guy had a great sporty style, pairing a bright blue tank with shorts and sneakers.

This fellow beach cruiser kept it cute too with white skinny jeans, a tan tunic and comfortable classic TOMS, although I think her bright orange bike was her best accessory.

My husband kept the breeze at bay with one of his favorite football sweatshirts, track pants and his favorite black hat, while I sported my favorite bright pink workout jacket, yoga pants and oversized sunglasses. All in all, it was a great day at the beach, with awesome views of both the ocean and San Diego street style.

@RoryGautsche: I know, it's crazy to think we were simultaneously doing blizzard and beach fashion! That's the best part about street style trends -- seeing what people are wearing in different parts of the country and world. This comment has been removed.
