Revamp Your Wardrobe for Fall
Revamp Your Wardrobe for FallWith the fall season looming over us, it is time to consider ways that we can acclimate our wardrobes to the rapidly cooling temperatures, seasonal color palette changes, and the desire to dress seasonally appropriate.
Step 1: The ScarfOne of my favorite ways to turn any light outfit into one that is warmer and more seasonally appropriate is to add a scarf. Silk and patterned, or chunky and solid, a scarf is an instant way to not only add style and flair, but some warmth as well. Since jeweled tones are always hot for fall, go for a rich burgundy, or a deep, inky navy, to revamp that outfit in a New York minute.
Step 2: LayeringThe biggest change in the fall is obviously the cooling temperatures. When the thermometer reads anything lower than a 70, I know it’s time to start layering my clothing to the desired level of warmth and style. For example, while a tank top and skirt were fine for the summer, an early fall outfit will most likely see the addition of a cardigan sweater and tights. Just like that, a breezy outfit becomes warmer, sleeker, and more seasonally appropriate.
Step 3: TightsSpeaking of tights, stockings and leggings are one of the best ways to ensure that you can wear shorts and short skirts well into the fall, and even in the wintertime. By adding a pair of tights, you are not only altering the look in a fun way, you are protecting your legs from the strong breezes and chillier temperatures that the fall brings. Even better, by adding a pair of funky cabled tights or even cut-out leggings to your ensemble, you can instantly dress up (or down) your favorite skirt or pair of shorts.
No need to abandon style when the temperatures drop. With these quick wardrobe updates, you will be ready to strut your stuff in style this fall.
