How to Wear a Short Skirt
Rock a Mini Skirt With Style and Class
Step 1: Keep it SmoothForget the thought that miniskirts are slutty (yes, I said it…we all know this is the word that usually comes to mind). They aren’t. They can be quite classy; it all depends on how you wear them. In fact, most minis are no higher on the legs than a pair of shorts. So with Memorial Day behind us and summer upon us, it’s time to raise the hemline. Here are a few tips that will make your mini ensemble a success.
• Shave, exfoliate, and tan. No one wants to see white, hairy, scaly legs. Whatever atrocities you’ve been hiding with leggings and tights must now be dealt with. So go have a good leg and bikini wax, invest in some Nair, or purchase a good razor and get to work. Lather on the self-tanner, or better yet enjoy the beauty of the day. Take a nice hike and get some sun on those legs.
Step 2: Keep it Classy• Don’t be caught with panty lines; wear a thong. You want the attention on your skirt and legs, not awkward panty lines.
Step 3: Keep it in Shape• Choose the right style in proportion to your body shape. For example, if you’re a bit lacking in the curves department, and have a more boyish shape, then choose a skirt with layers. If you are heavier on the bottom, choose a skirt that flares. For those with curves and that enviable hour glass figure, be careful not to go too tight on either bottom or top. The key to looking sultry in a mini is properly pairing a loose-fitting blouse with the tighter skirt.
Step 4: Keep in in Step• Pick the right shoes to complete the look. Heels, flats, or even short boots—anything goes. It really depends on the occasion and the look.
