After searching around through the Memorial Day sales, I see there is a common theme among clothing: everything is more open! Because of the warmer temps, we are pulling away from layering outfits and looking for ways to let the cool breeze in. In addition to the ever popular open toe or peep toe shoes and sandals, I'm seeing the open trend be translated to clothing as well.

Step 1: Open Toe Shoes
Pamper yourself with a pedicure and let your toes be free in a pretty pair of sandals or open toe wedges. I love a classic pump, but letting a little toe peep out is flirty, fun and lets everyone know summer is here. Stay classic or go funky and really discover some new styles that you may have been storing away all winter. Favorites of mine include strappy heels and straw wedges in a bold color like orange or turquoise.
Step 2: Flutter Sleeves
I love the open sleeves look! By showing just glimpses of the skin, the look is sexy without revealing too much. The slits in the sleeves showcases a breezy look, and depending on what design or color you choose, it can be worn casually or for a night out. Some styles have just the shoulders showing; while others reveal from the shoulders to the elbows. It can be a great look for anyone! Pair it with an accordion skirt or a dressy pair of shorts in lace or silk.
Step 3: Bare Back
Open backs are a surprise because typically, if you have an open back, you have a more covered up front. There's so much that can be done with the look besides just the full open back. Stores are carrying styles that have geometric shapes and different cutouts in the clothing. I love the shirts that are gathered in the middle but have the lower part of the back open and completely bare - perfect to pair with a slim fit pair of jeans.
Fashion's open season is here! How will you embrace the trend?
