Marchesa in 2013

Marchesa is one of my favorite designers. The designs are purely feminine: lots of tulle, draping, beading, and all the elements that make a girl feel like a girl. Since awards season is just around the corner, I am hoping that the celebs will share my Marchesa love and debut dresses from their Spring 2013 collection.

The first dress might be too casual for an awards show, but there will be some youngsters this year on the red carpet, so I think the coral color would really be fresh and youthful for the right rising star. The cutouts and one shoulder makes the dress more formal, and the nipped in waist creates a beautiful silhouette.

I love the red, tulle dress due to its romantic flair and gorgeous color. If this dress was longer, it’d be perfect for the red carpet. If I was richer, it’d be a perfect Valentine’s Dress for me. There is a lot of texture to the dress that gives it that special feel and red is always an awards show favorite.

A clean white column dress can make such a dramatic presence. Much like the Tom Ford look that Gwyneth Paltrow wore last year with that capelet, a beautiful white dress can be both simple and stunning. The added accents to the sleeves would be a great statuesque look for someone like Nicole Kidman or Angelina Jolie.

You definitely can’t go wrong with a beaded gown. Yes, it can appear “too safe” by fashion critics, but elegant glamour never goes out of style. If it’s the right fit and right form, then a gorgeous gown like this can make even the biggest star dazzle more.

What trends are you hoping to see on the red carpet this year?
