Sneak Peek Into Fall Fashion

After poring over hundreds of pictures from New York Fashion Week’s Fall 2013 collections, I have to say fashion never looked so good. Typically, there are a few questionable lines for me that I think are too high fashion for my taste. But of the pieces I’ve seen, I can definitely see them being reinterpreted on a smaller, more affordable scale.

By now, I’m sure my fellow Taaz ladies know my love for Marchesa and their 2013 Fall collection did not disappoint. Their creations are highly romantic and feminine and just gorgeous. The black satin mixed with gold-laced tulle combines the best of fabrics and creates a look that is high class with a hint of goth. I love the different textures used because it takes basic black up a notch.

The colors of Oscar de la Renta’s collection are right up my alley! Teal and neon yellow aren’t meant to be together, but oh, they marry so well. If I’m being honest, neon yellow is one of my favorite colors of the moment. I saw a skirt in that hue from the Prabal Gurung for Target collection and I’m pretty sure I will find a way to work it into my wardrobe. The teal keeps it from looking too retro 80s and the smart fabrics keep things ladylike and lovely.

Beautiful clothes in soft neutrals were part of Rodarte’s runway. The pale blush colors are amped up by the different hemlines of the pieces. Ruffled skirts, longer jackets and luxe fabrics make sure that the look isn’t too stuffy or too plain. Unexpected lightness is often welcome in fall.

3.1 Phillip Lim mixes warmer colors like teal and rich browns. The leather makes it perfect come fall and the layering keeps the look chic and easy to pair with a plain tee and your favorite boots. It’s a matter of color combination and timeless style that makes a simple look like this one able to be worthy of the NYFW runway.

Four looks don’t do the summary of fashion week justice, but it’s a good place to start. Do you agree?

Really unique color choices for fall. Visually reminds me of Sin City in a way. This comment has been removed.
