Hairstyles to Rock for Spring 2010

2010 Spring Hairstyle Trends
The recession dictated hairstyle trends last year, hence the resurgence of low-maintenance locks. Savvy women attempted to cut costs (translation: go longer between appointments) by embracing their natural, no-fuss color and texture, be it curly , wavy or pin-straight. With the economy and our spirits finally looking up, spring 2010 promises a return to lighter hair and sun-kissed, face-framing highlights. Among the most popular hair colors for spring is red—in bold shades of titanium orange and auburn. Red hair is big right now because it falls somewhere between dark (brown) and light (brown).  Unexpectedly, strawberry blond highlights look fetching on dark Asian hair for spring. Also consider giving raven hair a punch of pastel with highlights in shades of robin’s egg blue, yellow and orange.

Last year’s bob has taken on its own unique style. Women are growing out their A-line cuts for a longer look that’s shattered with extreme texture, keeping the longest pieces in the front and the shortest in the back. Layers are still very in and they work to give the hair movement, shine and sleekness.

Straight from the runway, spring's most extreme hairstyles are asymmetrical. We're seeing a resurgence of one-sided braids and buns slung over one shoulder, and heavy bangs that taper from shortest to longest in a left-to-right fashion. --Stephanie Simons

This models hair is fabulous but I could never get my hair this straight ever! I like the idea of the "recession" hair .... keeping your texture natural! This comment has been removed.
