How to style your hair like Petra Nemcova

Hair that's teased at the crown creates the illusion of length for a round shaped face (it slenderizes full cheeks). Run a dollop of mousse through damp ends and blow dry the majority of your hair using a paddle brush, then use a boar bristle brush when it's almost dry to create added smoothness and shine.
Petra's party-perfect pompadour is best achieved by sectioning your hair into three equal parts (one on each side and one in back). Set your hair in large Velcro rollers allover, making sure to roll all of the hair taught at the roots to create lift at the crown of your head. Blast the rollers with heat and remove them gently as they cool. Brush out your hair and back-comb the bangs to build height, then smooth the top layer over the teased portion using a fine tooth comb. Spritz with firm hold hairspray.
For Petra Nemcova-inspired waves that look effortless, create a center part that's slightly askew using your fingertips. Add a dollop of mousse to damp hair and blow-dry using a medium round brush. Begin your soft curls at ear level, using a medium barrel curling iron. Hold the barrel vertically, beginning a few inches from the roots, and spiral sections of hair around it (alternate between sections that are 1- and 2-inches wide for a strategically disheveled look). Work the curls allover your head, some of them bending forward and others bending backward, then finger-comb with hands that have been spritzed with light hairpray for flexible hold. -Stephanie Simons
