How to Do Your Hair and Makeup Like Nicole Kidman

Tall, statuesque, with flawless porcelain skin, Nicole Kidman has long held a spot on the Hollywood A-list. Known for her lean, graceful figure, the actress (and mother of four!) knows how to brilliantly showcase her best features. The curly updo and subtle smoky eye she wore on the red carpet recently were absolute perfection. Here’s how you can get the look for yourself.

Nicole has an enviably smooth complexion. Fortunately, with the right products, you can get one, too. As always, start with a good, silicone-based primer, which will help smooth out any fine lines and imperfections on the surface of the skin. Next, choose an oil-free liquid foundation that will allow your skin to breathe (ideal in the warmer months of summer) and apply a thin layer over the entire face. Apply a coral-colored blush with a hint of bronze to the cheekbones, blending it out and up into the temples to warm the complexion. Finish with a micro-fine finishing powder, to ensure that the skin will have a flawless look that lasts throughout the evening.

This soft, smoky eye is all about subtle glamor and sex-appeal. Begin by using a pencil-tipped eye brush to apply a soft, charcoal-gray eye shadow as close to the lash line as possible, winging it out slightly at the end to create a wide-eyed, cat-like effect. Drag the shadow brush under the lower lash line as well. Apply black liquid liner to the upper lash line only. Curl the lashes and carefully apply a pair of long, false lashes directly on top of your own natural lashes. Use a curling mascara to blend your real lashes into the false ones, producing a more natural look. Finish this beauty look with an apricot lip gloss on your pout.

Nicole’s voluminous curls, though pinned back, are truly eye-catching. To get this look, you’ll need a curling iron, a handful of regular bobby pins (that match your hair color), two jeweled bobby pins or barrettes, hairspray, and a comb.

Begin by dividing hair into sections and curling each piece, making sure that each curl cools before moving on to the next section. Once the entire head of hair has been curled, mist with hairspray to set. Use your comb to part hair on the left-hand side. Take a piece of hair from the right of the part and twist between your fingers, pulling it back toward the ear and pinning in place with one of the jeweled clips. Separate the top-left section of your hair from the rest and again twist the hair and secure it with the second jeweled clip. Randomly grab sections of hair and pin the ends up into the scalp until all of your hair is styled into a chic updo. Don’t worry about getting every strand in place, as this hairstyle is all about effortless beauty.

Her skin and face are flawless....she doesn't look like she has much foundation on, I know she keeps her skin in perfect condition! Her hair looks cute, I would maybe pull some more bang forward though. Thanks for sharing! This comment has been removed.
