Actress Kristen Bell hit the red carpet today for the Los Angeles premiere of her new movie “Hit and Run.” She showed up looking elegant and cool in a look from Jenny Packham’s 2012 fall line. By dressing head-to-toe in black and keeping her hair and makeup fairly simple, she worked a minimalist look to a tee.

Kristen’s blonde hair held a deep part and was subtly styled with frizz-free shine. To create a similar look, if your hair isn’t naturally wavy, pull wet hair into a loose, low braid. When it is about 90% dry, pull the braid out and run fingers through to create soft waves. Apply a hair serum to control stray hairs and to help boost shine and then blast with cool air from your hairdryer.

The simplicity of Kristen's hair matched her low-key makeup. Her flawless skin maintained a beautiful, dewy finish and her cheeks were emphasized with just the right amount of color. Her creamy skin can be achieved by creating a smooth base with the go-to trifecta: primer, concealer and lightweight foundation, but another important thing to remember is quality control over the skin's oiliness.

Even if you are not notorious for having oily skin, during the summer especially, shiny spots can sneak up on you. It’s always best to keep blotting papers handy and a powder puff to help zap shine. Kristen did a good job at maintaining her t-zone, so her makeup looked polished. Her cheeks were a rosy hue which can be recreated by using a cream based blush that blends seamlessly into the skin. Her lips were also tinted with a matching soft pink gloss. Kristen’s blue-green eyes were highlighted by a bone-colored shadow swept over her lids and then outlined with a charcoal black liner. To create definition, and not a dramatic, evening look keep the lids light and liner to a minimum. After swiping on two coats of mascara, it creates a perfect light palette to complement her dark outfit.

The actress wore an elegant, black jumpsuit smartly paired with black shoes to create one, elongated line. By being nipped in at the waist and adding a belt, she made sure there was a defined shape to her petite frame. The rest of the look was mostly accessory-free keeping her outfit modern and fresh. Later, walking down the red carpet she was pulled in for a sweet smooch with fiance/co-star Dax Shepard, really beaming when photographed.

Kristen walks the red carpet looking like a confident lady in love. What do you think of her minimalist look?

I love her makeup! Clean, but sophisticated. Only thing is she needs a pop of color somewhere - belt, statement lip, something. Is she wearing heels? This comment has been removed.
