How to Do Your Makeup Like Kate Middleton

Kate Middleton Wedding Makeup
The new Duchess of Cambridge is known for her signature style and natural, sensible beauty. So on her wedding day, we wouldn't expect anything less from this future princess.

According to several sources, Kate decided to enhance her natural beauty by doing her own makeup.

Want to do your wedding day makeup just like Kate? Follow these easy steps, and you will look like royalty in no time.

Start by prepping the face with a silicone-based primer. This will even out the surface of the skin, so that the makeup applies evenly. Some people have allergic reactions to silicone, so be sure to test out different primers beforehand. Follow up with a tinted moisturizer, applied with a brush.

Note that Kate’s makeup is never overdone. Her face has a radiant dewiness to it--so if you need more coverage, look for a formula with illuminating particles.

Begin the eye makeup by priming the eyelid with a nude base to ensure that the eye shadow does not crease. Apply a matte eye shadow in ivory or pearl. Add more depth to the eyes by taking an ash brown eye shadow and following the crease of the eyelid.

Next, line the top and bottom lash lines with a liquid liner, staying as close as possible to the lash line. Take a metallic, golden-brown shadow and line the lower lash, smudging it at the outer corners of the eye. Finish the eyes by applying two coats of lengthening mascara.

For a bridal flush just like Kate’s, apply a pop of pink blush at the highest point of the cheeks. For best results, stand in front of the mirror and smile. This will show the exact point of the cheekbones that are more pronounced. Instead of swiping the brush across the cheek bones, twirl it in a circular motion onto the apples of your cheeks.

Apply a bronzy-peach blush to the hollows of the cheeks to give definition to the face.

For lips that ask to be kissed, apply a rose lip stain and dab lip gloss onto the center of your lower lip. This will ensure that the color stays on, and it keeps the gloss looking natural.

Kate’s hair is worn in a half-updo, with a part on the side, and pinned at the back. To get this look, curl loose strands with a two-inch curling iron to create soft waves. Finally, add a tiara to complete this royal look.

That's really cool how she did her own makeup that day. I would have been so scared to mess it up lol! This comment has been removed.

I just got Laura Mercier's Silk Creme Foundation...so hopefully that works just as well! This comment has been removed.

I like how clean and elegant her look is! Anyone know what type of foundation is good to get that same finish Kate has? This comment has been removed.

Yeah, you can try using any medium coverage foundation (Laura Mercier, Bobbi Brown, Chanel, Estee Lauder have great options) and setting it with a bit of loose powder. Just don't overboard on the powder so your makeup doesn't look cakey. Hope that answers your question! This comment has been removed.
