Glee star Jenna Ushkowitz stepped onto the 2011 Grammys red carpet in a flirty, black-and-nude strapless dress and peep-toe pumps. Her wavy hair, pulled into a faux-short style, and soft makeup made this look one of our favorites. Learn how to get it for yourself with these easy steps.

For a glowing complexion like Jenna’s, apply a tinted moisturizer to the face, using your fingers. A tinted moisturizer will enhance your skin tone and give you an extra boost of freshness by keeping your skin hydrated. Take a rosy, cream blush and apply it to the apples of your cheeks for a pop of color. Fill in the eyebrows, using a brow pencil in a brown-grey color. Comb through the brows afterwards to achieve a more natural look. If you’re concerned about a brow pencil having a harsh effect, try using a matte, powder eye shadow and an angled brush instead.

To get Jenna Ushkowitz’s eye makeup, begin by applying a milky-beige eye shadow across the lid. Take a light-brown eye shadow and apply it to the outer portion of the top lash line, moving upward and center. Take a fluffy brush and blend the shadows making small circles; blending will ensure your eye shadow looks smooth and flawless. Take a dark, chocolate-brown liner and line the top lash line and the bottom water line, smudging the liner along the bottom lid. Make the eyes pop by applying a highlighter to the inner corners. Add two coats of volumizing mascara.

Complete the makeup look with a berry-pink lip gloss.

Achieving this faux-short hairstyle is easy. Begin by washing hair with a volumizing shampoo. This hairstyle is all about texture; apply a volumizing mousse, and use a diffuser to dry hair. Once hair is completely dry, divide it into top and bottom halves. Taking the bottom half, create two small braids and pin them up, underneath each other. To create the curls for the top half of the hair, take a two-inch section of hair and twist it, before wrapping it around a one-inch curling iron. Continue to do this until hair is completely curled. Run fingers through the curls to get a soft, undone look, and finish by misting hair with an extra-hold hairspray.
