What you will need: bobby pins, hair tie, small elastic hair ties, bristle brush, and hair wax or gel. This hairstyle is best suited for medium to long hair.
Step 2: Step 1
Start by adding styling wax or gel to your hair using your fingers. Using your fingers, and not your whole hand, prevents over-applying the product and maintains a soft finish.
Step 3: Step 2
Gather your hair up into a high ponytail, aim for the crown of you head, and secure with a hair tie. Tilting your head back will help keep ponytail tight and secure when brushing.
Step 4: Step 3
Braid the tail of your hair into a braid and secure the end with a small, clear elastic rubber band. This braid does not have to be perfect, so dont worry if you have flyaways. Wrap the braid around the base of the ponytail to create the bun. Hide the end of your braid by placing it underneath the bun. Pin your bun in place with bobby pins or hair pins until your bun feels secure. Spray with a lightweight hairspray for extra hold.

LOL haha yeah, I used hair mousse and it turned out looking pretty good. The goal is soft, fluffy-looking hair, not a slicked back, wet looking one lol. This comment has been removed.
I tried this with gel (as I ran out of hairspray)...and it wound up looking like a sci-fi slick hair-do hahahahhahahaa. My advice: don't use hair gel...especially if the gel has that 'wet' finish look. It works better if you have a hair spray that doesn't dry looking 'wet'.This comment has been removed.
