Drop Red Gorgeous
Marilyn Monroe Tribute
It’s been 50 years since Marilyn Monroe’s untimely death. In fact, it almost seems unfair that such a talented and beautiful person would be taken from this world so early. Marilyn was only 36 years old when she passed away. However, in that brief time, she was able to create some of her most memorable films and photographs. To this very day, the impact of her work both in film and music is simply immeasurable. She will forever be an icon of beauty and desire. In honor of her anniversary, I’ve compiled a look that’s well “Drop Red Gorgeous” just like she was. Do you dare to wear this glamorous look?

Step 1: Soft EyesStart with an eyeshadow primer. I prefer a “brightening pearl” primer as this will make the eyeshadow pop. Next, pat on a light beige or nude color on the base lid. Using a fluffy brush, contour with a soft brown above the crease, and finish with a light brow highlight color. Don’t skimp out on the black mascara. Pick one that is both volumizing and lengthening, and layer on several coats for desired effect.
Step 2: Sexy Black EyelinerUsing black liquid or gel liner, define the upper lashline. For added drama, extend your eyeliner into a winged one. Your wing should connect into your bottom lashline. Tip - Use a piece of scotch tape, and apply at a 45-degree angle from your bottom lashline to the end of your eyebrow. This is your guide to apply winged liner.
Step 3: Red LipsApply foundation or concealer to the lips. This step cancels out your natural lip color, so the red lipstick shade is much more vibrant. Now, define the lips with either a lip liner or lip brush. Finally, fill in with your red lipstick. If you choose to go glossy, blend a dab of clear gloss over your lipstick. Tip - For longer wear, dust some translucent powder on your red lips, and then layer again with lipstick.
Step 4: Perfect ComplexionAchieve Marilyn’s flawless face, with a full-coverage concealer to erase dark circles, blemishes and any discoloration. Then, apply an illuminating liquid foundation. Set with translucent powder, and contour the temples and cheekbones with a natural or matte bronzer.
