Emmy Awards Fashion: Bright Colors Haven't Faded Yet
Best of the Bright, Bold Colors on the Emmys Red Carpet
The heat in Southern California hasn’t died down even though fall has officially arrived and neither has the hot, neon colors we loved from summer. Numerous celebrities dared to go bold showing up in sizzling reds, tantalizing tangerines, and even a little lime green for the event.
Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson appeared a v-neck, haltered column gown, the color matching the red carpet she was walking on. Upswept hair and dangling earrings were subtle touches to complement her bright red hue. The look itself was a simple one, but the color made it stand out.
Julie Bowen, who won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her show, Modern Family, made me want to cheer when I saw her in a lime green, strapless gown. The Hi-Liter hue of her dress is remarkable and daring for this actress who doesn’t usually push the color wheel too far. Paired with elegant earrings and swept back hairdo, she was a favorite of mine of the night.
Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi tried tangerine for her dress color choice. The bright tone worked well against her darker complexion and soft waves kept the look modern and fresh. The tight, strapless bodice of her Monique Lhuillier gown paired with the flowing, fishtail train was fit to perfection on the Bravo star. One addition I would have made would have been a bold, jeweled cuff bracelet, but she looked radiant nonetheless. Kudos also to Jessica Lange who at 60+ years of age also knows how to work this daring shade.
What did you think about all the bright colors on the Emmy red carpet? Which ladies topped your best-dressed?
