Who wore black best at last night’s CMA Awards? As a safe go-to color for most women, black is able to be transformed in many different ways to portray different styles as many country music stars showed us last night.

A very pregnant Jennifer Nettles from the group Sugarland glowed in a long, column black gown proudly cradling her bump. They announced she was about three weeks away from her due date, and she looked fantastic. The gathering of the gown fit so well, hugging her in the right places, but didn’t look stretched too thin or tight. Metallic heels, heavy hoops and a dark manicure keep the look trendy and red carpet worthy.

Lady Antebellum’s lead singer Hillary Scott showed off her curvy figure in a black, sparkly dress that hit just below the knee. Three-quarter length sleeves and a sweetheart neckline was a great contrast to the glitzy front paneling of her dress. Pretty, peep-toe heels and big ol’ statement ring only added to the glam factor. She kept her hair fairly simple in very loose waves and peach-toned makeup.

A super skinny Faith Hill went with a simple black column gown with white capped sleeves. Her long, blonde hair was swept to one side, but sadly, I felt her look fell flat. She is a gorgeous woman and I’ve been a fan of hers since I was a teenager, but she looked underwhelming on the red carpet. A better fit dress, a bling-worthy accessory or contrasting shoe might have made the look more exciting. Despite her natural, fresh-faced beauty, I felt she could’ve done better.

Out of the three black-clothed beauties, which country star was your favorite?
